Hospice Basics
Hospice offers a compassionate model of care that recognizes everyone’s right to spend their final months, weeks, and/or days with dignity, respect, and free from pain.
Hospice care typically begins with a referral from a healthcare provider when an individual is expected to have six months or less to live. When medical treatments become more burdensome than beneficial, hospice delivers specialized care focused on maximizing time with loved ones.
Through symptom control, pain management, integrative therapies, healthcare advocacy, and caregiver support, hospice provides a distinctive program that benefits all involved.
Wherever you reside, whether assisted living facility, nursing home, or personal home, we bring hospice to you.
Hospice Misconception
There is a common misconception that hospice is only for the final days of life or that choosing it hastens death.
In truth, hospice is about comfort, dignity, and maintaining quality of life.
Patients can receive care for months, even extending beyond six months depending on their condition.
Hospice emphasizes managing symptoms while offering emotional and spiritual support for both patients and their families.
Hospice focuses on making remaining time as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
Starting hospice care early allows families to receive comprehensive support for a longer period, offering more opportunities to create meaningful memories together.
